Implementing Static Translations

Translate DPP templates manually when you only manage a few.

Let’s explore how to translate your Digital Product Passport (DPP) into different languages, the static way. 🗣️

Why offer Different Languages?

Because your products travel. Whether you're selling across Europe or globally, offering DPPs in your customers' native languages builds trust, transparency, and enhances the user experience.

When Is Static Translation Useful?

Static translations work best when:

  • You have a low number of DPP templates
  • Setting up automation would take longer than translating manually
  • You want full control over the translated content

How to Do It — Step by Step

  1. Access the Narravero Platform
  2. Navigate to DPP Publisher
  3. Click “Add new”
  4. Give your new template a meaningful name
  5. Choose your default language (this becomes the fallback if the viewer’s language isn’t supported)
Example If the user's phone is set to French, but the DPP doesn’t support French, the fallback language (e.g. English) will be shown.

Now it’s time to create your DPP structure

Tip: You can duplicate an existing DPP to save time!

Translate Your Template

Once you’ve built your template:

  1. Click on “Translate” in the DPP Publisher
  2. You’ll enter Translation Mode

In this view, go through all your template elements:

  • Update only the content that needs translation
  • All content which is not changed will be shown like in the default languege
Example Translate your product description like: “Recycled cotton T-shirt” → “T-shirt en coton recyclé”
  1. Choose your target language(s) from the dropdown

Repeat this for each language you want to support. Save each version, and you’re done! 🎉

And Voilà — Multilingual DPPs!

Your product now speaks the same language as your customers. Simple, smart, and fully in your control.
